			Dear developers,

just a quick e-mail to mention that the first automated generation of a
cross-compilation environment for hackable:1 (Openmoko Freerunner
target) has hit the build server:
http://build.hackable1.org/Hackable1-Openmoko-Freerunner-cross-daily.tar.gz
(this is currently for amd64 machines)

It's not fully functional yet, but you are already free to download and
test it, and send feedback :)

The idea is this:
- download and uncompress the tarball;
- chroot into it;
- get a copy of the SVN, your own sources...
- it cross-compiles out of the box!

I will write a full e-mail and documentation as soon as it gets good
enough. Here's what I can already recommend as the first thing to do
from inside the chroot though:
- create and fill /etc/resolv.conf
- run "apt-get update" (it may not find hackable:1's packages)
- run "apt-get -f install"

By the way, the "trunk/build/build.sh" script no longer requires Debian
to work (except dpkg, which compiles on other systems and can be easily
replaced). It can almost be considered a cross-platform, cross-target
equivalent of debootstrap by now. It would also be worth having a look
at "emsandbox" from emdebian to see how it compares (I think it is their
equivalent).

HTH,
